RPIA Training consists of classes, drills and lectures given by members, fellow EMTs, and guest speakers. Classes are held for CPR, First Aid, and rank promotions (Driver, Crew Chief, Attendent). Members are encouraged to attend as many drills as they can as well as assist with classes, however there are no formal attendence requirements.
There will be a NYS EMT-Basic course being held at RPI for anyone who is interested. The class begins on September 7, 2005. Click for the application and for the schedule. Note: You MUST PRE-REGISTER.

ALL members of RPIA must receive mandatory OSHA training anually to be authorized to ride with the Ambulance. You can review the OSHA Training Lecture here.
The position of "Attendant" is the first goal of all new RPIA members. As an Attendant, members may assist with patient care on calls. A short class is part of the requirement of Attendant training. The materials of which can be reviewed here.
